Prof. Sunil Kumar Maheshwari
Prof. Sunil Maheshwari is a distinguished management scholar, former civil servant, policy advisor, and corporate board member with nearly four decades of experience in leadership, strategy, organizational transformation, and human resource management. He served as Professor of Human Resource Management and Strategy at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) and also held the position of Dean (Alumni and External Relations).
An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, he earned his doctoral degree in Management from IIM Ahmedabad. He began his career with Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) before joining the Indian Railway Personnel Service (IRPS), where he held senior human resource leadership roles.
Prof. Maheshwari has advised organizations across the power, energy, infrastructure, banking, healthcare, manufacturing, telecommunications, and public sectors on strategic transformation, leadership development, governance, and organizational effectiveness. He has also served as Advisor to the Minister of Human Resource Development, Government of India, contributing to higher education reforms and faculty development initiatives.
He has been associated with the boards and governing bodies of several prominent institutions and is a prolific author of books, research papers, and teaching cases on leadership, corporate renewal, and HR analytics. His contributions have earned him several honours, including the Gold Medal for Excellence in Service from the National Academy of Indian Railways.
